Mulenex served as director of operations for CVS/Caremark in Irving, Texas, for the past five years. He spent a total of 10 years at CVS/Caremark, including management positions in operations and information technology.

He began his career as a business policy analyst in policy administration at United Insurance Cos. Inc. Mulenex then worked as a technical consultant for Merck- Medco Health Systems, a division of Merck Inc., where he managed development across 27 client groups within the larger employer benefits area. He has 15 years of experience in the health care industry.

Born in El Paso, Texas, Mulenex grew up in Oklahoma, living in Cromwell for three years, and then Yukon through his sophomore year of high school.

He then moved to Dallas, where he lived for 15 years.

Mulenex attended Baylor University, majoring in communications. Joe and his wife, Roxane, have a 3½-yearold daughter, Madelyn. He enjoys watching and playing hockey, and is a “want-to-be chef,” a career he plans to pursue in the future.
