It is our mission to adhere to the highest standards of quality, confidentiality, and diligence. Oklahoma Digital Forensics Professionals, Inc. (OKDFP), a private company, was founded in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2003 as a provider of digital forensics services to businesses and law firms in the state of Oklahoma. OKDFP’s corporate offices and laboratory are in the heart of downtown Tulsa, on the 17th floor of the MidContinent Tower. OKDFP services the entire state of Oklahoma. HistoryOklahoma Digital Forensics Professionals, Inc. (OKDFP), a private company, was founded in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2003 by Dr. Gavin Manes. Our staff has over 40 years of combined experience in the cutting edge field of digital forensics. The staff has worked for major Oklahoma companies as digital forensics examiners, and graduated from accredited digital forensics academies. All of our staff have received educations from the Center for Information Security at the University of Tulsa over the past eight years. OKDFP staff have also received all five federal CNSS/NSTISSI information assurance certifications and worked closely with many local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Our memberships in the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, High Tech Crime Investigation Association, Digital Forensics Working Group, Association of Computing Machinery, Oklahoma Infragard, Information Systems Security Association, and the American College of Forensic Examiners Institute ensures that we are up-to-date and cutting edge on technology and legal issues. OfficersPresident and Director of Research Dr. Gavin Manes has been working in the field of information assurance, computer security and digital forensics at the Center for Information Security at the University of Tulsa for the past eight years. He has all five federal CNSS/NSTISSI information assurance certifications and has briefed the White House, National Security Council, and the Pentagon. Dr. Manes has mentored and worked closely with the Tulsa Police Department Cyber Crimes Unit since their inception in 2000. He has also worked with several federal, state, and local agencies. These agencies include the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, Internal Revenue Service, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Defense Computer Forensics Lab, and many different Offices of Inspector Generals. In his academic pursuits, Dr. Manes has taught both Introductory and advanced digital forensics and telecommunication security courses for more than six years, and has trained members of industry, government, and students in all aspects of information assurance. Lance WatsonVice President of Client Relations Lance Watson received his Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Tulsa in 2003. During his time at TU, he focused on computer and network security. He has earned all five of the federal CNSS/NSTISSI information assurance certifications. Mr. Watson worked for eight years at Boston Communications Group. During this time, he helped develop and implement innovative software technologies for voicemail systems. He also assisted with the deployment of a broader range of wireless network services in North and South America and the Caribbean.
At BCG, Mr. Watson was responsible for a variety of projects from their inception to full implementation and performed a variety of project completion tasks: requirements gathering, resource allocation, development, deployment, and customer maintenance. He was also responsible for managing the installation training program for telecom personnel.
Michael D. Cannady IIVice President of Forensic Operations Michael Cannady has been involved in the technology sector for thirteen years. His focus is in Digital Forensics and computer investigation. Mr. Cannady received training at the University of Tulsa Center for Information Security in the CNSS program focusing on Digital Forensics, Computer Security, Network Security Programming, and Secure System Administration and Certification. Michael has also received advanced training from Access Data, and obtained his CISSP, MCSE, and MCSA certifications. Mr. Cannady has previously worked for TekSystems and The Williams Companies as a Senior Forensic Examiner. During his time at Williams, Michael was responsible for creating and documenting the process of the acquisition and analyst of suspect systems. He designed and deployed infrastructure for the forensic lab and conducted field investigations, and onsite diagnosis. Michael was also responsible for conducting personnel interviews relating to security breaches, misdeeds, and computer abuse. As lead forensic examiner at OKDFP, Michael manages all aspects of forensic operations, including training of technical specialist, analyst, and quality control processes. His duties also include overseeing new technology implementation, methodology, and technical projects.
